Why pregnancy is the perfect time to try reusables

To the pregnant mama

Pregnancy is a time to bloom, but it's also when you feel the need to choose what is most comfortable and natural. Many women experience changes to or increase in their natural discharge leaving them feeling awkward about what is totally normal.

You might not have even thought of a reusable pantyliner before…

They're not for women like me, right?

And for years that's what I thought too. Until I got so uncomfortable wearing disposable liners daily during pregnancy, that my downstairs became too sensitive to wear post partum disposable pads after giving birth to my precious baby boy. This was when I decided for myself alone that enough was enough, and I had to find an alternative.

The comfort I found from reusable pads has changed my life. Which is why I am so passionate about sharing my story with the world. And with you. Be willing to open your mind, get past barriers in your head, and pregnancy can begin a liberating journey freeing yourself from single-use plastic that you never even dreamed of.

Your body will thank you for it & will recover more naturally. Like our babies, we were made to be cushioned in the most intimate places by soft and natural fabric, not sat on a sweaty plastic bag.

How many women try yoga during pregnancy, when they had never considered it before?

Just trying a reusable pantyliner could be the start of the rest of your new life.

Even if the thought of washing a pad to re-wear it again makes you feel a bit icky, I promise you once have experienced the comfort, you will not want to go back to disposables ever again.

And if you decide the full post-partum flow is too much to cope without disposables, (especially when you’ve just run that marathon of birthing your baby) that’s also fine!

If you only bring your reusable pads out again once your lochia has slowed to a dribble, you will still get that comfort when you need it the most.

Getting over that first hurdle of trying reusable pads now might allow you more time to plan ahead; so you can truly nest and make the most of your time with that little one who you are carrying, once you bring them into this world.

Wishing you all the love & positive vibes in the world for your birth, mama.

Focus your mind past the fear, feel your body just do what it’s capable of, and in itself giving birth can make you feel more empowered than you ever imagined!

xx
